Cataloging Certification/Recertification (2024)

Initial cataloging certification is required for a newly-hired cataloger in an established MEC library. It is also required for each cataloger in a newly-migrated library. A cataloger has six months after entering the MEC cataloging environment to complete certification.

Cataloging recertification is required every two years for existing MEC catalogers. For catalogers who have initially achieved basic and advanced cataloging certification, the cataloger is only required to complete the advanced cataloger recertification.
