Cataloging Certification

The Missouri Evergreen Cataloging Certification was designed to prepare any staff member at a Missouri Evergreen library to successfully complete cataloging work at 2 levels

      1. Basic – for staff who will be adding and removing items from the database
      2. Advanced – for staff who will be modifying MARC records in any way

In compliance with the Missouri Evergreen Cataloging Policy, at least one staff member at each member library will need to be trained at the Advanced level. Below are links to the resources for each cataloging level.

The certification process should happen in the following steps:

      1. Navigate to the content for the level that you wish to complete (links below)
      2. Read through the training and view the accompanying videos
      3. Complete the tasks described at the end of each document
      4. Send all completed coursework to the Consortium Cataloger via email (gbwhitmore@msn.com)
      5. The Consortium Cataloger will review and notify the cataloger confirming their completion of the certification

If you have questions about the process or any of the content, please reach out to cathelp@moevergreenlibraries.org
